- i18n scanner: lastError sink, no false sinks on defaults and ternaries
- shared src/i18n/marker.js for modules that only mark strings
- wind field messages move to wind/fields.js; CITY_POIS imports from cityPois.js
- drop review IDs, change history and stale references from comments and docs
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
- Status pieces translate in one place (src/ui/statusText.js): a Local
ADS-B error with a single piece now translates, and the analyst card
splits empty-layer notes into pieces (Transit, Local ADS-B).
- Translate the ALPR retry chip text, the ECCC error on the Air quality
card, "Upstream response too large" and the "entry {n}" feed label.
- The unmarked-text check also sees error/loadingLabel/statusMessage/
status assignments, `status:` properties and showToast?.( /
this._showToast( calls; the scene import preview marks its pack
statuses, data and model-facing text carry i18n-ignore with a reason.
- Tests check the real code: the HUD locality formatter moves to
src/hudLocalityFormat.js, the unsaved-keys test pins the teardown.
- One copy each: city names come from src/cityPois.js, the GNSS HTTP
template and wind "field unavailable" texts; dead fallbacks removed.
- Leftovers of the reverted vessel-label change and the reformatting of
detectionHost.test.mjs / keySetup.test.mjs are back to main.
Catalogs: es/ru 2617 messages each, complete.

The vessels layer hid the detection callout for every vessel whose card
it published to the world overlay. The overlay paints only part of the
published cards (shared budget, collisions, UI chrome), so vessels whose
card was dropped lost all their text: with 60 vessels and Detection on,
21 showed only an arrow. Back to main's behaviour: the callout always
draws. Hiding it only under a painted card is HAL-628.
The translated speed unit in the callout stays.

Fixes the P1 and the confirmed P2 findings of the final review of the
i18n branch.
- CI: the air-quality model no longer imports i18n (portable module),
so check:boundaries passes again.
- Air quality layer: named in the layer panel, HUD and voice; its
Weather card, bands and errors translate. A test keeps the layer-name
table in step with the layer registry.
- Layer statuses that still reached ru/es in English: GNSS, CelesTrak,
Transit loading and feed errors, launches, perimeters, ALPR, ECCC,
wind "field unavailable", Local ADS-B streaming lines.
- Voice and HUD: preset ids show city names ("Fly to San Francisco"),
the HUD city translates, cockpit refusals cover frame, aircraft and
satellite; empty Transit notes translate on the analyst card.
- tn() keeps a caller's formatted count ("12,345 map objects").
- Cyber HUD: the language button no longer covers the bottom-right
card or the cockpit position readout.
- CCTV buttons wrap only in non-English locales; English layout matches
main again.
- Switching language asks first when Provider Settings holds unsaved
keys.
Catalogs: es/ru 2611 messages each, complete.

Conflicts:
- CCTV HUD: main's datasheet FOV, capability range and spec summary,
with their labels translated; specFovCapabilityToken takes a format
so the HUD can pass a translated one. Datasheet resolution labels are
camera data (i18n-ignore).
- Transit: main's route labels and operator mode words, with the
generic words still translated; an operator's own word stays a name.
Catalogs: es/ru 2566 messages each, complete.

Merges cleanly; weatherPanel.test.mjs arrived unformatted and is run
through prettier so format:check passes.

Replaces the EN/ES/RU buttons in the Visual Presets dock with a picker
that scales to many languages: a globe button with the current code
next to the POWER UP chip, opening a list of languages named in their
own language with their codes, the current one first and checked. A
search field appears past 8 languages. Keyboard: arrows, Home/End,
Enter/Space, Esc, type-ahead; keys stay in the list while it is open.
Choosing a language still asks before dropping unsaved work, then
reloads. Phones get the globe alone and a full-width sheet; the layout
uses logical properties for right-to-left languages.

Conflicts:
- KartaView viewer moved into the shared photoViewer.js on main; its
labels now take the provider name ("{name} street-level photo") and
are translated there.
- Weather: main's cloud filter strength slider, with its labels in t().
- Street Level caption: translated creator line plus main's licence.
Panoramax status and error texts are marked like KartaView's, and
"Panoramax answered HTTP {status}" gets a template in the panel and the
layer row. Catalogs: es/ru 2553 messages each, complete.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
- The help tray over the mic clipped the longer ru/es hint ("Hold Space
to speak · tap Space to activate focused controls"); let it wrap in
non-English locales. English layout is unchanged.
- The fly-to headline and the nearest-aircraft distance line now show a
preset city in the interface language (Tokyo → Токио / Tokio); speech
sent to the model stays English.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
Both sides had merged the same main features (cockpit emergencies, GNSS
integrity, geo file import) with their own i18n. Conflicts keep this
branch's reviewed version; the 7 catalog entries only the other side
used are pruned. Newer main commits come in unchanged.

Fixes the 51 P0–P2 findings from the full review of the i18n branch and
the issues found while checking every new string on screen in ru and es.
- Translate errors and statuses that still reached ru/es in English:
feed and tile errors, provider statuses, the ALPR chip, the traffic
mode chip, voice plan step labels, fire feed values, receiver bands,
scene save reasons and the Cesium attribution link.
- Show preset city names in the UI language (src/ui/placeNames.js);
data and everything sent to the model stay English.
- Share layer names between the layer panel, HUD and voice card
(src/ui/layerNames.js).
- Keep long ru/es strings whole: voice card error lines, analyst
titles, the voice tier status, the Nepal evidence button, the ALPR
retry chip. English layout is unchanged.
- Ask before a language switch drops unsaved work.
- Catalog fixes: glossary terms (пуск, пресет), gender agreement and
consistent "peticiones" in es, fewer calques in both languages.
- Fix English text that was itself wrong (e.g. "Exit cockpit to fly to
a weather", raw tool ids in voice plan steps).
Catalogs: es/ru 2535 messages each, complete.

Conflicts resolved by keeping both sides: the Events group gains
gnss-integrity with a translated label, the cockpit aircraft line shows
main's transponder emergency through a localized formatter (cockpitMath.js
stays i18n-free, like the Context scope line), and the boundary lists keep
both the i18n modules and main's new data modules.
Main's new UI is translated into es and ru: the GNSS Integrity row, legend
and notes; geo file import (button, hints, list actions, every import
error, with numbers passed as placeholders); transponder status names.
Also formats kartaview/viewer.js so format:check passes.

meirm merged the same upstream main in parallel and translated its Street
View additions. This branch already resolved that merge and translates the
same text for its own key-guidance code ({source} instead of {label}), so
its tree is kept; meirm's commits stay in the history.

The selected fire card read "4.9 MW" and "8.389°S 44.162°W" in every
language; it now uses the locale's decimal separator and hemisphere
words ("4,9 МВт", "8,389° ю. ш."). The data labels stay as they were.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
A final review of both PDFs found text the earlier checks missed:
- Map cards: fire confidence (high/nominal/low) and age (24h), vessel
types (TOWING, TANKER) and installation classes (BASE, AIRFIELD) showed
in English. They now go through the catalog; the data stays English.
- The wind readout kept "10-14 14:00 UTC" and "29.93°N 97.74°W"; it now
uses the locale's date, decimal separator and hemisphere letters.
- Catalog: one term per concept (label/подпись, basemap/подложка,
PROVIDER CONTROLS, HEARD, zoom in, REGIONAL NEWS), calques and broken
grammar in the scene editor, provider settings and Bhote Koshi notes,
and Spanish wording that read wrong ("restringidas por el proveedor",
"Incluye … no se incluyen", "justo ahora", "Sal").
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
Two other models reviewed the ru and es review PDFs. What held up:
- Directions: Russian reads "держитесь левее" at a fork and "займите
левую полосу" for a lane, Spanish "toma el carril izquierdo". Forks and
lanes get their own direction words; English is unchanged.
- Weather timestamps read "13.10 19:04 UTC" / "13/10 19:04 UTC" instead
of "10-13", which read as a range. English keeps "10-13".
- Cockpit coordinates write the hemisphere out in Russian ("30,312° с.
ш."): a lone «С» after a degree sign read as Celsius.
- A layer whose source joins several providers shows each name in the UI
language ("Mapillary · Google Просмотр улиц").
- Vessel speed uses the locale's decimal separator.
- Layer names no longer hyphenate into two-letter pieces ("es-paciales").
- Catalog: wrong meanings (cyclone centre, STREAMING, credited source,
"DE OÍDAS"), calques ("Пацифика", "Активная погода", "Прочитать вид",
"referrer", worker), Russian "щёлкните по …", shorter Spanish labels
that were cut (voice status, PREAJUSTES, search placeholder) and one
term per concept.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
The review fixes had turned RANGE into DIST. and SPD into VEL.; the
Spanish glossary keeps HDG, BRG, CRS, FOV, DEST, SPD, RANGE and ALT in
English like cockpit avionics. The glossary now records the terms the
review settled: ACTIVO / INACTIVO, marcador, resplandor, Ciber,
NOTICIAS, INCL. / ALT.

The Contacts panel builds its markup in a variable before innerHTML, so
the unmarked-text check missed it: the window caption, "Named areas", the
"at least" count and each cohort's reason stayed English, and distances
read "4.6 km" in every language.
The reason stays English in the cohort summary, which the voice analyst
reads too; it now also carries its template, and the panel shows it in
the UI language. Distances and counts use the locale's number format
and unit.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
Screens that only open with provider keys showed a few gaps:
- Google Street View's own controls (Map Data, Terms, Report a problem)
and its addresses were always English: the Maps script now loads with
the UI language. English adds no parameter, as before.
- The selected-vessel HUD line kept KT and DEG after translated labels.
- Layer counts used a decimal point (12.0K); other languages use their
own separator (12,0K).
- A collapsed rail title was cut with an ellipsis in Russian; tighter
tracking fits it whole. English is unchanged.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
A screenshot review of the Spanish UI found:
- Text left in English. Catalog entries copied from English (Bloom,
Cyber, Pin, NEWS, SITE, ON/OFF, RANGE, PITCH, HGT…) and the radio
music genres, which never went through t(). The genres are translated
in es and ru now.
- Wording: gender agreement, calques of the English, hints that name
buttons that do not exist, and one concept worded two ways.
- Layout: the DESACTIVADO pill squeezed layer names until words broke
mid-word; the scene and camera selects showed one word; a collapsed
rail title pushed its button out of the card; the image slot line and
a comparison readout were cut or split.
The layout fixes are scoped to languages other than English, so English
stays pixel-identical. Visual-style slider values now use the locale's
decimal separator (0,85).
npm run i18n now reports a translation that is identical to the
English, unless src/i18n/same-as-english.json lists it for that language
(codes, product names, words spelled the same).

The Street Level error line and its toasts showed provider errors as
thrown (Google's key-rejected message stayed English). They go through
translateKnown now. In a translation the coverage hint no longer shrinks
to a narrow column beside OPEN GOOGLE STREET VIEW: the button takes its
own line when both do not fit. English layout is unchanged.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
Main added the Google Street View street-level provider and key guidance
that offers another source. Its new text goes through t()/msg() with ru
and es entries; the key guidance the panel shows is built in the UI
language by src/ui/keyGuidance.js, while keySetupCore.mjs keeps the
English sentences the server and AI tools use.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
The fallback summary reads "NORMAL CITY NEAR …" again in English; the
translations keep the " · " separators that stop the style and view band
reading as one phrase.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
- Satellite class in analyst records and voice payloads stays English
("STATION", "COMMS"), so voice filters on the class work in every
language; cards and the legend still show the translated label.
- Layer source names (OSM routing, ALPR sources) stay English in layer
state; the layer row translates them.
- New translateKnown(): catalog text when there is an entry, the given text
otherwise, with no warning. The layer row uses it for loading labels and
errors, Recent Imagery for its notices.
- Mark the remaining Recent Imagery and wind messages.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
- The Space Missions cancellation failure toast read "[object Object]" in
every language: the options object was passed as the message. The English
message is the second argument again, the translation the third.
- Header text is translated before panel chrome builds its collapse labels,
so the dock and display toggles no longer read "Expand VISUAL PRESETS" in
another language.
- The voice "show data layers" result keeps the English layer name
(row data-layer-name), not the translated row text.
- The Google 3D unavailable reason is translated in full.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
From the English-parity and breakage review against main:
- English wording back to main: "Configured Source", the "SHARED SUBJECT"
fallback, CCTV calibration "RANGE 120m".
- Voice header and CCTV calibration chip/select tweaks for long labels now
apply to non-English only (html:not([lang='en'])); English matches main.
The scene select font change is scoped the same way.
- New scenes and shots store their default title in English ("Scene 3",
"Shot 2") and translate it when shown, so a title captured in one language
does not leak into projects, storage or shared JSON.
- Choosing a language with storage blocked keeps it in ?lang instead of
silently doing nothing.
- One picked import file shows its name again.
- qa-l9-matrix reads the voice state from data-status, not the label.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
A side-by-side English comparison with main found text the branch changed:
- Layer list names: #601 let its own catalog names win over the panel's
English names, so "Live Vessels" read "Live AIS Vessels", "Bike Share"
"Bikeshare", "Cameras" "CCTV", "Data Centers" "Datacenters", "Active Fires"
"FIRMS Active Fires". The panel names win again.
- HUD feed-state suffix is "UNAVAILABLE LIVE AIS VESSELS" again (Russian keeps
its colon); the mission panel aria-label is "Selected Space Mission" again;
scene shot timing is "4.0s + 0.9s" again.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
From the re-shot Russian screenshots:
- Translated: weather frame/imagery status errors, HUD summary provenance
("НЕДОСТУПНО: СУДА AIS ОНЛАЙН"), Bhote Koshi map labels, cockpit signal
distances (КМ). The HUD summary fields are separated with " · " in every
language, so the style name and view band no longer read as one phrase.
- Numbers follow the locale: cockpit altitude ("26 175"), precipitation.
- No breaks inside codes and dates: ADS-B and similar in layer rows,
Sentinel-2, cyclone issue dates (word joiner; the UI font has no U+2011),
no-break space after label colons in cyclone details.
- Layout: count lines under ALPR, short unavailable chip (context
"status chip"), roomier draw segments, tighter CCTV calibration chips,
two-line beat titles and media card titles, wrapping weather status.
- Wording: ru advisory is «сводка» (was «бюллетень»; "Advisory center" is
«Центр циклона по сводке»), Street View is «Просмотр улиц», OPACITY
«НЕПРОЗР.», synced «синхр.», Area «Зона»; the import dialog no longer says
"this scene" for several scenes. Glossary updated.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
A review of the Russian UI screenshots found ~90 places where longer words
broke the layout or text was still English. Fixed so they hold for any
language, then shortened where a control is short by design.
- Layout: label columns that size to their text (weather and wind settings,
Recent Imagery slots and opacity, style sliders, display panel), layer
list names and icons, buttons that wrap instead of overflowing (CCTV,
scenes, Bhote Koshi), voice header that always shows the cost, styled
EN | ES | RU chips, voice error tray above the dock.
- t() context: t('CLEAR', { context: 'action' }) is «СБРОСИТЬ» while the sky
stays «ЯСНО»; also used for radio categories, voice states and directions.
- Units and dates follow the locale through src/ui/unitLabels.js
(formatQuantity: localized number, translated unit, non-breaking space):
wind, pressure, cyclones, directions, CCTV, SDR gain, scene timing, flight
tooltip, Recent Imagery dates and resolution.
- Newly translated: directions turn-by-turn steps (built from the maneuver;
English matches the server word for word), HUD mode and summary, voice
card states, radio categories on the globe, CCTV status, layer source
lines, scene dialogs (Cancel, file pickers), Bhote Koshi statuses, titles,
comparison dates and caveat, Recent Imagery notices. Stored data and text
for AI tools stay English.
- es and ru: 1,885 messages each.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
Mark every UI string the unmarked-text check reported (534) plus text it
cannot see (helpers, joined labels, runtime-built panels), and translate
the result to Spanish and Russian: 1,679 messages each.
- Kept on purpose, with the reason where the text lives: provider and
product names, place and camera names, codes and units, dB values, the HUD
terminal readouts, demo shot titles that saved projects look up by title,
and text for AI tools and the voice model.
- Modules shared with the server or AI tools stay free of the i18n import
(local msg); the wind reading and voice session stay English and are
translated where the page shows them.
- npm test now runs the unmarked-text check.
- Fixes on the way: a duplicated radio privacy paragraph, the contact panel
toggle saying Expand while open, the CSS filter mistaking & for CSS.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
npm run i18n now also lists, and fails on, markup text and title /
aria-label / placeholder without data-i18n*, and string literals that reach
the page (textContent, innerHTML, setAttribute, toasts, label:/title:
properties and similar) without t(), tn() or msg(). Opt-outs say why where
the text lives: translate="no" and data-i18n-runtime in markup,
// i18n-ignore in code. src/tools/ is skipped: its text is for AI clients.
534 places are reported today; npm test does not run this part yet.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
Both panels landed after the original string extraction, so they rendered
English in every locale. Mark their markup and runtime text (status, SINCE
stops, provider tooltips, coverage meta, viewer captions, draw hints and
colours), the layer-list names kept in PANEL_LABELS, and add 90 es and ru
entries. Street Level is «Уличные снимки» / «A pie de calle».
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
The slider labels (Sensitivity, Bloom, Pixelation, …) live in the shader
modules and were rendered raw, so they stayed English in every locale.
Mark them with msg() and render them through t(); add es and ru entries.
WHOT/BHOT and Ironbow keep their names. Russian Bloom is now «Свечение».
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
Register es next to ru (selector shows EN | ES | RU) and complete the
catalog against the current English: the 13 messages added since #602,
the "many" plural form Intl.PluralRules('es') selects for exact millions,
and fixes where the English had changed (e.g. "hace hace" in LIVE ·
updated, minutes written as metres). Terminology made consistent (buque,
aeronave, incendio activo); key names stay in English. Meir's wording is
kept everywhere else. Adds docs/translations/es.md.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
Replace the semantic keys with the English source text, so code reads as the
UI does and English needs no catalog: t('Save keys'), tn(count, one, other)
for plurals, msg() for text stored in data, and bare data-i18n* markup that
translates the element's own English. Other languages are one flat JSON each.
- Simplify src/i18n: drop namespaces, the configurable locale pair
(GEV_DEFAULT_LOCALE / GEV_SECONDARY_LOCALE) and its build defines. Locale
comes from ?lang=, the stored choice, then browser languages.
- Add scripts/i18n.mjs (npm run i18n): extracts every message from t/tn/msg
and markup, and fails on missing, unused, placeholder-mismatched or
wrongly-shaped plural entries. npm test runs it via catalog.test.mjs.
- Add Russian (src/i18n/locales/ru.json, 833 messages), started from the
community catalog in #312 and reviewed against the current English.
- Fix data-i18n placed on parents that would wipe their children (cockpit
LEVEL and local weather cells, first-run EXPLORE MANUALLY tile), and a
doubled degree sign in the TRACK ACQUIRED signal.
- Rewrite docs/TRANSLATORS.md for the new workflow; drop sections the earlier
merge resurrected in docs/CURRENT-STATE.md.
