Set release date and refresh README

- Public release set for August 18, 2026, with a running updates log
- New hero GIF and four interface stills replacing the old previews
- Rewrite copy: lead with lineage, then the news, then the product
- Remove superseded hero images
- Add .gitignore for .DS_Store
