Sameh Khamis 4cfca57cfb fix: bound large boxes by their farthest point on the sphere
A box's radius was the distance to its farthest corner, which falls short for
large boxes: a whole-world box measured about 10,000 km, so bike-share and
transit selection never considered systems beyond it. The radius now checks
whether the box holds the point opposite its center and otherwise samples
every edge.

Sameh Khamis dd8ba562d2 fix: find fire perimeters that overlap an area
Fire perimeters were placed at their average vertex, so a fire enclosing the
whole requested area was missed. Polygons now count when a vertex is inside
the area, an edge crosses it, or the polygon contains it outside any hole.

Sameh Khamis 6f56c84b0b fix: find cables that cross an area between vertices
Cable searches only tested vertices, so a cable crossing an area with no
vertex inside it was missed. Lines now test each segment against the area's
bounds, across the antimeridian too, and against a radius area's great-circle
distance.

Sameh Khamis 5b73b70d19 fix: bound radius areas by the exact spherical cap
The longitude span divided the angular radius by the center's cosine, which
is too narrow for large radii and near the poles. Areas now use the exact
tangent bound and span every longitude when the circle reaches a pole.

Sameh Khamis 0dbd6375fc fix: center named places on their own location
A place's bounds can reach far from the place itself; Tokyo's include
remote Pacific islands, so the middle of its box is open ocean. Keep the
geocoder's point for a named place and use it as the area's center,
while bounds still decide what lies inside the area.

Sameh Khamis c3dfa8e853 feat: add a tool catalog and local MCP server
Define tools that answer questions from the app's data once, independent
of the surface that exposes them. A tool declares its arguments and the
services it reads; applications compose tools with their own services and
optional call interceptors. Queries reuse the layers' portable source
factories, so they run wherever an application routes /api requests.

The first queries are get_earthquakes, get_active_fires and
get_recent_launches, with a shared area argument (place name, bounding
box, or point and radius) and capped lists.

gods-eye-view/tools/mcp adapts a catalog to the Model Context Protocol
with a small JSON-RPC handler and a stateless HTTP transport, adding no
dependencies. npm run mcp serves Core's tools over stdio to local clients
such as Claude Code, reading from a running app. Both exports are
portable and checked by check:boundaries; the app does not import them.
