SceneControls no longer takes element handles or writes the Scene panel's
button states, PLAY label, status line, progress bar or runtime chip: it
presents them to the gev-scenes store, and the panel's buttons, scene
select and IMPORT chooser call its actions there. The chooser opens only
while an owner presents the panel and is cleared once its import settles.
On destroy the panel keeps its last status and buttons, without shots or
the runtime chip, as before.
The data-pack presentations keep the Cesium resources, object URLs and
pick targets and present each pack's attribution card, with its media
player, to the gev-data-packs store; the DataPacks view teleports one
panel per set of presentations into the viewer's container with the same
markup and inline styles, and stops a removed card's player as it goes.
The scene interactions owner keeps the pick handler and the interaction
session and presents the panel to the gev-scene-interactions store; the
SceneInteractions view teleports it into the viewer's container with the
same markup and inline styles. Each activation keys its own panel, each
button carries the owner it was rendered for, and only the owner the
store shows may change or remove it.
ShellFeedback and the scene director show toasts through createToast(),
each on its own timer as before, and the scene chrome renders the toast.
Every show rewrites the text, so a repeated message is announced again.
createSceneDialog keeps its builder but publishes the dialog's lines,
fields, buttons and status to a scene sharing store; SceneDialog.vue,
teleported to the body from the scene panels view, draws the same modal
with the same styles and opens it with Cancel focused. The EDIT DETAILS /
SHARE SCENE bar is drawn by that view while sharing offers it. The status
directive is shared with Provider Settings, and the two QA scripts that
drove the old DOM read the new dialog.
The it, pt and uk catalogs merged from main still carried the two Snow
button strings, which the catalog tests report as stale. They are
pruned with npm run i18n -- --prune.
A Scene Director shot saved with Snow now normalizes to Normal when the
project loads, so the shot list shows NORMAL rather than an untranslated
SNOW for a shot that plays on Normal. The README's style keys read 1-6.
Localize a bootstrap shot title without a source pack only when the
Nepal pack marker binds that title to the shot's id, so an operator
shot renamed to a bootstrap title in the built-in scene stays as typed.

- Superseding a seek aborts only the seek's own layer reconcile, so a
loadShot that is later rejected (shot-not-found) no longer cancels an
in-flight LOAD. Stop still aborts any LOAD.
- A refused seek rolls back to each layer's effective intent, so a manual
toggle still in flight is kept.
- A cancelled seek leaves layers to whatever superseded it, as a cancelled
LOAD does; only refusal rolls back.
- Move the _seekLoadedShot JSDoc back onto its method.
Three-model review (astra, sol, fable): 42 findings accepted, 3 deferred
(unmarked cyclone errors and the Chinese locale descriptors need new keys
in every catalog). The USGS callout now reads as an action (APRI LA FONTE)
because it opens the report. Layer, tool and card-title sentences agree with
any feature name («Il livello {layer} è attivo», «Lo strumento {name}»,
«{label}: attivato»). The store write error is grammatical for both
values. RADO/BILANCIATO agree with DENSO. Also fixes the meaning of
viewpoint, fire incident, trigger record, transit report, FIRMS cell age,
drizzle, widebody and fast-jet classes; Dissolvenza and CH replace the odd
abbreviations; cause/hint dashes become colons.
Fixes the Nepal scene showing shots 01-08 in English in every locale:
displayShotTitle() now also trusts the bootstrap keyframes of the append
recipe that upgrades a built-in scene (src/scenes/recipes.js, with a test).

Compare declared visibility with the manager's effective intent, and treat
in-flight transitions as stale so a toggle or superseded LOAD rollback that
is still settling cannot slip past the check. Reconcile only those layers
inside the lightweight seek instead of rebuilding the shot, and report a
refusal without resetting the seek position or camera.

The README source tree now lists src/ui/ instead of the removed
src/ui.js. docs/CODE-BOUNDARIES.md names src/ui/applicationShell.js as
the owner of panel layout, persistence and share restoration, and
docs/CURRENT-STATE.md places GLOBAL_POST_DEFAULTS in
src/ui/visualPresets.js. QA script comments and test assertion messages
that still named ui.js are updated the same way.
Knip, configured with the application, package exports, scripts, QA
harnesses, workers, tools and tests as entry points, reports exports
that no module imports. Each was checked by hand against string-based
and namespace imports.
- Symbols that are still used inside their own module lose only the
`export` keyword (176 constants and helpers).
- Unused re-exports are removed from barrel modules (flight, military,
vessel, CCTV, directions, transit history, local ADS-B and street-level
policy modules).
- Declarations that nothing uses at all are deleted, among them
AIS_WATCHDOG_STATUSES, applyFilter, isRadioCountryCode, compactText,
DENSITY_STOPS, the unused CCTV endpoint constants, and the SDR band
constants.
- Default exports that nothing imports are removed. The ones in
src/data/earthquakes.js, src/data/telegeographySubmarineCables.js,
src/data/wind.js and src/data/bhoteKoshiLocator.js each constructed a
layer instance at import time that nothing used; those instances are
no longer created.
Every export of a package.json entry stays, as does TOMTOM_CREDIT,
which the traffic layer reads from the credits namespace it is given.
Drop module-local helpers that nothing calls (linkAbort, summarize,
stringOption, summarizeEntity and the polygonCenter, propertyObject and
unwrapProperties helpers only it used, CALLOUT_DOT_SIZE_PX) and unused
import specifiers in runtime modules, tests, QA scripts and tools.
None of the removed bindings is exported. Re-exports such as the ALPR
policy constants and every package export are unchanged.
The standalone director971.test.mjs rebuilt the browser, storage and viewer
doubles that director.test.mjs already provides. Its cases now live in the
director suite on makeDirector/installSceneRuntime, which gains optional
seeded storage entries and a quota-full switch; existing tests are unchanged.
The checkpoint and failed-save-status cases are split so each fails on its own.
- i18n scanner: lastError sink, no false sinks on defaults and ternaries
- shared src/i18n/marker.js for modules that only mark strings
- wind field messages move to wind/fields.js; CITY_POIS imports from cityPois.js
- drop review IDs, change history and stale references from comments and docs
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
- Status pieces translate in one place (src/ui/statusText.js): a Local
ADS-B error with a single piece now translates, and the analyst card
splits empty-layer notes into pieces (Transit, Local ADS-B).
- Translate the ALPR retry chip text, the ECCC error on the Air quality
card, "Upstream response too large" and the "entry {n}" feed label.
- The unmarked-text check also sees error/loadingLabel/statusMessage/
status assignments, `status:` properties and showToast?.( /
this._showToast( calls; the scene import preview marks its pack
statuses, data and model-facing text carry i18n-ignore with a reason.
- Tests check the real code: the HUD locality formatter moves to
src/hudLocalityFormat.js, the unsaved-keys test pins the teardown.
- One copy each: city names come from src/cityPois.js, the GNSS HTTP
template and wind "field unavailable" texts; dead fallbacks removed.
- Leftovers of the reverted vessel-label change and the reformatting of
detectionHost.test.mjs / keySetup.test.mjs are back to main.
Catalogs: es/ru 2617 messages each, complete.

Fixes the 51 P0–P2 findings from the full review of the i18n branch and
the issues found while checking every new string on screen in ru and es.
- Translate errors and statuses that still reached ru/es in English:
feed and tile errors, provider statuses, the ALPR chip, the traffic
mode chip, voice plan step labels, fire feed values, receiver bands,
scene save reasons and the Cesium attribution link.
- Show preset city names in the UI language (src/ui/placeNames.js);
data and everything sent to the model stay English.
- Share layer names between the layer panel, HUD and voice card
(src/ui/layerNames.js).
- Keep long ru/es strings whole: voice card error lines, analyst
titles, the voice tier status, the Nepal evidence button, the ALPR
retry chip. English layout is unchanged.
- Ask before a language switch drops unsaved work.
- Catalog fixes: glossary terms (пуск, пресет), gender agreement and
consistent "peticiones" in es, fewer calques in both languages.
- Fix English text that was itself wrong (e.g. "Exit cockpit to fly to
a weather", raw tool ids in voice plan steps).
Catalogs: es/ru 2535 messages each, complete.

- Guard against legacy pack bootstrap during unreadable storage recovery
- Report failed saves honestly across captures, updates, and imports
- Resolve default scene id correctly when advancing past a specific shot
- Count unique scenes executed rather than queued shots in run telemetry
- Return run failure status when playback throws instead of false success
- Pin five regression scenarios in src/scenes/director971.test.mjs
From the English-parity and breakage review against main:
- English wording back to main: "Configured Source", the "SHARED SUBJECT"
fallback, CCTV calibration "RANGE 120m".
- Voice header and CCTV calibration chip/select tweaks for long labels now
apply to non-English only (html:not([lang='en'])); English matches main.
The scene select font change is scoped the same way.
- New scenes and shots store their default title in English ("Scene 3",
"Shot 2") and translate it when shown, so a title captured in one language
does not leak into projects, storage or shared JSON.
- Choosing a language with storage blocked keeps it in ?lang instead of
silently doing nothing.
- One picked import file shows its name again.
- qa-l9-matrix reads the voice state from data-status, not the label.

From the re-shot Russian screenshots:
- Translated: weather frame/imagery status errors, HUD summary provenance
("НЕДОСТУПНО: СУДА AIS ОНЛАЙН"), Bhote Koshi map labels, cockpit signal
distances (КМ). The HUD summary fields are separated with " · " in every
language, so the style name and view band no longer read as one phrase.
- Numbers follow the locale: cockpit altitude ("26 175"), precipitation.
- No breaks inside codes and dates: ADS-B and similar in layer rows,
Sentinel-2, cyclone issue dates (word joiner; the UI font has no U+2011),
no-break space after label colons in cyclone details.
- Layout: count lines under ALPR, short unavailable chip (context
"status chip"), roomier draw segments, tighter CCTV calibration chips,
two-line beat titles and media card titles, wrapping weather status.
- Wording: ru advisory is «сводка» (was «бюллетень»; "Advisory center" is
«Центр циклона по сводке»), Street View is «Просмотр улиц», OPACITY
«НЕПРОЗР.», synced «синхр.», Area «Зона»; the import dialog no longer says
"this scene" for several scenes. Glossary updated.

A review of the Russian UI screenshots found ~90 places where longer words
broke the layout or text was still English. Fixed so they hold for any
language, then shortened where a control is short by design.
- Layout: label columns that size to their text (weather and wind settings,
Recent Imagery slots and opacity, style sliders, display panel), layer
list names and icons, buttons that wrap instead of overflowing (CCTV,
scenes, Bhote Koshi), voice header that always shows the cost, styled
EN | ES | RU chips, voice error tray above the dock.
- t() context: t('CLEAR', { context: 'action' }) is «СБРОСИТЬ» while the sky
stays «ЯСНО»; also used for radio categories, voice states and directions.
- Units and dates follow the locale through src/ui/unitLabels.js
(formatQuantity: localized number, translated unit, non-breaking space):
wind, pressure, cyclones, directions, CCTV, SDR gain, scene timing, flight
tooltip, Recent Imagery dates and resolution.
- Newly translated: directions turn-by-turn steps (built from the maneuver;
English matches the server word for word), HUD mode and summary, voice
card states, radio categories on the globe, CCTV status, layer source
lines, scene dialogs (Cancel, file pickers), Bhote Koshi statuses, titles,
comparison dates and caveat, Recent Imagery notices. Stored data and text
for AI tools stay English.
- es and ru: 1,885 messages each.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
Mark every UI string the unmarked-text check reported (534) plus text it
cannot see (helpers, joined labels, runtime-built panels), and translate
the result to Spanish and Russian: 1,679 messages each.
- Kept on purpose, with the reason where the text lives: provider and
product names, place and camera names, codes and units, dB values, the HUD
terminal readouts, demo shot titles that saved projects look up by title,
and text for AI tools and the voice model.
- Modules shared with the server or AI tools stay free of the i18n import
(local msg); the wind reading and voice session stay English and are
translated where the page shows them.
- npm test now runs the unmarked-text check.
- Fixes on the way: a duplicated radio privacy paragraph, the contact panel
toggle saying Expand while open, the CSS filter mistaking & for CSS.

Replace the semantic keys with the English source text, so code reads as the
UI does and English needs no catalog: t('Save keys'), tn(count, one, other)
for plurals, msg() for text stored in data, and bare data-i18n* markup that
translates the element's own English. Other languages are one flat JSON each.
- Simplify src/i18n: drop namespaces, the configurable locale pair
(GEV_DEFAULT_LOCALE / GEV_SECONDARY_LOCALE) and its build defines. Locale
comes from ?lang=, the stored choice, then browser languages.
- Add scripts/i18n.mjs (npm run i18n): extracts every message from t/tn/msg
and markup, and fails on missing, unused, placeholder-mismatched or
wrongly-shaped plural entries. npm test runs it via catalog.test.mjs.
- Add Russian (src/i18n/locales/ru.json, 833 messages), started from the
community catalog in #312 and reviewed against the current English.
- Fix data-i18n placed on parents that would wipe their children (cockpit
LEVEL and local weather cells, first-run EXPLORE MANUALLY tile), and a
doubled degree sign in the TRACK ACQUIRED signal.
- Rewrite docs/TRANSLATORS.md for the new workflow; drop sections the earlier
merge resurrected in docs/CURRENT-STATE.md.

Route every application-owned presentation string through the i18n
core: t() call sites across the app/layers/ui/data/voice surfaces,
data-i18n* attributes in the src/ui/templates/*.html markup (applied at
boot by applyDocumentTranslations from src/standalone/application.js),
and the dock locale selector (runtime-rendered from the offered pair —
a single EN button while only English ships).
Rebased onto current main, where the extraction follows the module
splits: the shell wiring now lands in the owner modules
(panelChrome, visualSettings, locationNavigation, shareRestoration,
shellFeedback, applicationShell) and the voice status corpus in the
realtime* modules; scene status lives in director.js +
playbackAdapter.js.
Modules shared with the node runtime (loadingFeedback,
installationFeedback, regionalModel, keySetupCore, vessels ingestion)
stay environment-neutral English and localize at their browser render
sites (chip maps in shellFeedback/installations controls, the weather
table in cockpitBriefing, keySetupRequirementEnvVars compositions), so
the package-boundary graph stays clean; the browser boundary groups
now own the i18n modules they reach (scripts/package-boundaries.json).
Traffic roads come from OpenFreeMap vector tiles, or TomTom flow tiles with a
key (Hybrid by default). Military areas use OpenFreeMap polygons with a bundled
worldwide name index; wide views show named points. ALPR reads an hourly
OpenStreetMap extract. Cockpit place context and country, state and US county
outlines use bundled Natural Earth and US Census data. Overpass is used only
when an operator configures their own endpoint.
Also: camera arrivals no longer land below ground, keyless terrain retries on
429, bounded relation geometry for configured Overpass, one shared
OpenStreetMap credit, and separate tile and API transports for embedders.

Retain active-flight preloading while canceling hidden frames and pending Facebook sessions on stop, disable, and replacement. Add lifecycle and pointer-ownership regression coverage. Apply the runtime formatting adopted on main and keep the existing source-shape check insensitive to that formatting.
