Operator was the only layout that displayed the top banner bar. Its markup, styles and keep-out selectors are removed, and the Cyber style test now checks that none remain.
Snow is no longer offered anywhere a style can be chosen: the Visual
Presets tray, keyboard shortcut 7, the Cockpit vision carousel, and the
set_visual_style voice action. The shader and its labels go with it;
weather snowfall and the SNOW weather condition are unaffected.
Share links keep working. Snow's enum code (6) stays reserved, so a
compact or long-form link that names it opens on Normal and drops the
Snow shader parameters without reporting them as unknown. A Scene
Director shot saved with Snow plays on Normal too. Snow's frozen share
defaults matched Normal's apart from those parameters, so no other
setting in an old link changes meaning.
The legacy voice-schema pins restore Snow before hashing, so the
unchanged pins still prove nothing else moved; the complete Realtime
payload digest is re-derived.
Display > HUD > Layout and the set_hud voice action now offer Tactical,
Minimal and Cyber. The Operator option, its CSS and its QA coverage are
removed, and the unused "Operator" translations are pruned.
Share-link codes are append-only, so operator keeps its hudVariant code.
A link, scene or saved state that names it restores the default Tactical
layout. The voice schema pins keep their legacy digests by restoring the
retired value before comparing; the full-payload digest is re-derived.
The HUD builds place context for its AI summary whenever the camera
settles, and each build paid for up to four reverse geocodes plus a Nearby
Places search, even when no OpenAI key was configured to use them.
- Ask GET /api/openai/hud-summary/status once; with no summary configured,
or after an unconfigured reply, make no place lookups for the page.
- Reverse-geocode at most two points: the view center and one viewport
point.
- Reuse a lookup until the view center moves a quarter of the visible
width, the camera's distance to it doubles or halves, or the camera
crosses a lookup height. The reused points are asked again, so only a
timeout, failure or empty answer spends.
- Repaint the last AI reply when a small pan leaves the context unchanged.
Cached-only hosts and voice context lookups are unchanged.
Main now listens to camera.moveStart in IntelHUD's constructor (#1384), so
the fake camera in src/hudPageVisibility.test.mjs needs that event too, as
hudAltitudeDatum.test.mjs already has. No change to the fix itself.

Discard stale HUD summaries when camera movement starts and allow cancelled requests to retry for unchanged place context.
Contribution by @quanticsoul4772.
Main now has #1282, which pauses periodic layer polling in a hidden page
with its own catch-up and listener cleanup, so this PR drops its duplicate
lifecycle.js change and test in favor of main's.
Review fixes:
- data.js passes panelAwareVisibility(document) (new in app/embed.js) as
the lifecycle's visibility target, so an inline panel whose host reports
it hidden keeps polling. The HUD's 250 ms readout follows the same
document.hidden && !isEmbeddedInline() rule as tools.js.
- Tests: embed.test.mjs (layers poll in an inline panel reported hidden,
pause without the flag) and hudPageVisibility.test.mjs (HUD readout).
Both use mock timers and clean up in finally.
- changelog.d/1344-inline-panel-visibility.md and a note in
docs/CURRENT-STATE.md.

A hidden tab shows nobody the result, so polled layers (flights, quakes,
weather...) skip their refresh while the page is hidden and catch up with
one refresh when it is shown again. The lifecycle takes an optional
pageVisibility service ({ isHidden, subscribe }) so src/data/lifecycle.js
stays free of browser globals; src/app/data.js supplies the document-backed
one. Without the service, refreshes run as before. Every place that stopped
a layer's interval now goes through one helper that also drops the
catch-up listener.
The HUD's 250 ms camera readout also skips hidden tabs.

- i18n scanner: lastError sink, no false sinks on defaults and ternaries
- shared src/i18n/marker.js for modules that only mark strings
- wind field messages move to wind/fields.js; CITY_POIS imports from cityPois.js
- drop review IDs, change history and stale references from comments and docs
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
- Status pieces translate in one place (src/ui/statusText.js): a Local
ADS-B error with a single piece now translates, and the analyst card
splits empty-layer notes into pieces (Transit, Local ADS-B).
- Translate the ALPR retry chip text, the ECCC error on the Air quality
card, "Upstream response too large" and the "entry {n}" feed label.
- The unmarked-text check also sees error/loadingLabel/statusMessage/
status assignments, `status:` properties and showToast?.( /
this._showToast( calls; the scene import preview marks its pack
statuses, data and model-facing text carry i18n-ignore with a reason.
- Tests check the real code: the HUD locality formatter moves to
src/hudLocalityFormat.js, the unsaved-keys test pins the teardown.
- One copy each: city names come from src/cityPois.js, the GNSS HTTP
template and wind "field unavailable" texts; dead fallbacks removed.
- Leftovers of the reverted vessel-label change and the reformatting of
detectionHost.test.mjs / keySetup.test.mjs are back to main.

Fixes the P1 and the confirmed P2 findings of the final review of the
i18n branch.
- CI: the air-quality model no longer imports i18n (portable module),
so check:boundaries passes again.
- Air quality layer: named in the layer panel, HUD and voice; its
Weather card, bands and errors translate. A test keeps the layer-name
table in step with the layer registry.
- Layer statuses that still reached ru/es in English: GNSS, CelesTrak,
Transit loading and feed errors, launches, perimeters, ALPR, ECCC,
wind "field unavailable", Local ADS-B streaming lines.
- Voice and HUD: preset ids show city names ("Fly to San Francisco"),
the HUD city translates, cockpit refusals cover frame, aircraft and
satellite; empty Transit notes translate on the analyst card.
- tn() keeps a caller's formatted count ("12,345 map objects").
- Cyber HUD: the language button no longer covers the bottom-right
card or the cockpit position readout.
- CCTV buttons wrap only in non-English locales; English layout matches
main again.
- Switching language asks first when Provider Settings holds unsaved
keys.
Catalogs: es/ru 2611 messages each, complete.

Fixes the 51 P0–P2 findings from the full review of the i18n branch and
the issues found while checking every new string on screen in ru and es.
- Translate errors and statuses that still reached ru/es in English:
feed and tile errors, provider statuses, the ALPR chip, the traffic
mode chip, voice plan step labels, fire feed values, receiver bands,
scene save reasons and the Cesium attribution link.
- Show preset city names in the UI language (src/ui/placeNames.js);
data and everything sent to the model stay English.
- Share layer names between the layer panel, HUD and voice card
(src/ui/layerNames.js).
- Keep long ru/es strings whole: voice card error lines, analyst
titles, the voice tier status, the Nepal evidence button, the ALPR
retry chip. English layout is unchanged.
- Ask before a language switch drops unsaved work.
- Catalog fixes: glossary terms (пуск, пресет), gender agreement and
consistent "peticiones" in es, fewer calques in both languages.
- Fix English text that was itself wrong (e.g. "Exit cockpit to fly to
a weather", raw tool ids in voice plan steps).
Catalogs: es/ru 2535 messages each, complete.

The fallback summary reads "NORMAL CITY NEAR …" again in English; the
translations keep the " · " separators that stop the style and view band
reading as one phrase.

A side-by-side English comparison with main found text the branch changed:
- Layer list names: #601 let its own catalog names win over the panel's
English names, so "Live Vessels" read "Live AIS Vessels", "Bike Share"
"Bikeshare", "Cameras" "CCTV", "Data Centers" "Datacenters", "Active Fires"
"FIRMS Active Fires". The panel names win again.
- HUD feed-state suffix is "UNAVAILABLE LIVE AIS VESSELS" again (Russian keeps
its colon); the mission panel aria-label is "Selected Space Mission" again;
scene shot timing is "4.0s + 0.9s" again.

From the re-shot Russian screenshots:
- Translated: weather frame/imagery status errors, HUD summary provenance
("НЕДОСТУПНО: СУДА AIS ОНЛАЙН"), Bhote Koshi map labels, cockpit signal
distances (КМ). The HUD summary fields are separated with " · " in every
language, so the style name and view band no longer read as one phrase.
- Numbers follow the locale: cockpit altitude ("26 175"), precipitation.
- No breaks inside codes and dates: ADS-B and similar in layer rows,
Sentinel-2, cyclone issue dates (word joiner; the UI font has no U+2011),
no-break space after label colons in cyclone details.
- Layout: count lines under ALPR, short unavailable chip (context
"status chip"), roomier draw segments, tighter CCTV calibration chips,
two-line beat titles and media card titles, wrapping weather status.
- Wording: ru advisory is «сводка» (was «бюллетень»; "Advisory center" is
«Центр циклона по сводке»), Street View is «Просмотр улиц», OPACITY
«НЕПРОЗР.», synced «синхр.», Area «Зона»; the import dialog no longer says
"this scene" for several scenes. Glossary updated.

A review of the Russian UI screenshots found ~90 places where longer words
broke the layout or text was still English. Fixed so they hold for any
language, then shortened where a control is short by design.
- Layout: label columns that size to their text (weather and wind settings,
Recent Imagery slots and opacity, style sliders, display panel), layer
list names and icons, buttons that wrap instead of overflowing (CCTV,
scenes, Bhote Koshi), voice header that always shows the cost, styled
EN | ES | RU chips, voice error tray above the dock.
- t() context: t('CLEAR', { context: 'action' }) is «СБРОСИТЬ» while the sky
stays «ЯСНО»; also used for radio categories, voice states and directions.
- Units and dates follow the locale through src/ui/unitLabels.js
(formatQuantity: localized number, translated unit, non-breaking space):
wind, pressure, cyclones, directions, CCTV, SDR gain, scene timing, flight
tooltip, Recent Imagery dates and resolution.
- Newly translated: directions turn-by-turn steps (built from the maneuver;
English matches the server word for word), HUD mode and summary, voice
card states, radio categories on the globe, CCTV status, layer source
lines, scene dialogs (Cancel, file pickers), Bhote Koshi statuses, titles,
comparison dates and caveat, Recent Imagery notices. Stored data and text
for AI tools stay English.
- es and ru: 1,885 messages each.

Mark every UI string the unmarked-text check reported (534) plus text it
cannot see (helpers, joined labels, runtime-built panels), and translate
the result to Spanish and Russian: 1,679 messages each.
- Kept on purpose, with the reason where the text lives: provider and
product names, place and camera names, codes and units, dB values, the HUD
terminal readouts, demo shot titles that saved projects look up by title,
and text for AI tools and the voice model.
- Modules shared with the server or AI tools stay free of the i18n import
(local msg); the wind reading and voice session stay English and are
translated where the page shows them.
- npm test now runs the unmarked-text check.
- Fixes on the way: a duplicated radio privacy paragraph, the contact panel
toggle saying Expand while open, the CSS filter mistaking & for CSS.

Replace the semantic keys with the English source text, so code reads as the
UI does and English needs no catalog: t('Save keys'), tn(count, one, other)
for plurals, msg() for text stored in data, and bare data-i18n* markup that
translates the element's own English. Other languages are one flat JSON each.
- Simplify src/i18n: drop namespaces, the configurable locale pair
(GEV_DEFAULT_LOCALE / GEV_SECONDARY_LOCALE) and its build defines. Locale
comes from ?lang=, the stored choice, then browser languages.
- Add scripts/i18n.mjs (npm run i18n): extracts every message from t/tn/msg
and markup, and fails on missing, unused, placeholder-mismatched or
wrongly-shaped plural entries. npm test runs it via catalog.test.mjs.
- Add Russian (src/i18n/locales/ru.json, 833 messages), started from the
community catalog in #312 and reviewed against the current English.
- Fix data-i18n placed on parents that would wipe their children (cockpit
LEVEL and local weather cells, first-run EXPLORE MANUALLY tile), and a
doubled degree sign in the TRACK ACQUIRED signal.
- Rewrite docs/TRANSLATORS.md for the new workflow; drop sections the earlier
merge resurrected in docs/CURRENT-STATE.md.

Route every application-owned presentation string through the i18n
core: t() call sites across the app/layers/ui/data/voice surfaces,
data-i18n* attributes in the src/ui/templates/*.html markup (applied at
boot by applyDocumentTranslations from src/standalone/application.js),
and the dock locale selector (runtime-rendered from the offered pair —
a single EN button while only English ships).
Rebased onto current main, where the extraction follows the module
splits: the shell wiring now lands in the owner modules
(panelChrome, visualSettings, locationNavigation, shareRestoration,
shellFeedback, applicationShell) and the voice status corpus in the
realtime* modules; scene status lives in director.js +
playbackAdapter.js.
Modules shared with the node runtime (loadingFeedback,
installationFeedback, regionalModel, keySetupCore, vessels ingestion)
stay environment-neutral English and localize at their browser render
sites (chip maps in shellFeedback/installations controls, the weather
table in cockpitBriefing, keySetupRequirementEnvVars compositions), so
the package-boundary graph stays clean; the browser boundary groups
now own the i18n modules they reach (scripts/package-boundaries.json).
Wind (NOAA GFS and ECMWF IFS: animated particles, colour field, a reading at map centre), observed weather (NOAA MRMS radar, GOES and NESDIS infrared clouds, lightning density) on one shared history timeline, NHC and CPHC cyclone advisories with tracks and cones, and a WEATHER panel in the right rail. On 3D Tiles the observed products render as raised shells with a sharper window around the view.

The first formal release.
- One-click install via Pinokio; keyless boot lands on a live Esri World
Imagery satellite globe with keyless terrain, with automatic OSM fallback
and graceful degradation when terrain is unavailable.
- Provider Settings (the POWER UP panel): add, replace, or remove API keys
inside the app; credential files made owner-only before any secret is
written; external keys shown read-only; the panel refuses shared or proxied
servers.
- Keyless capability responses for the optional HUD summary and place search.
- Aircraft-identity voice answers cover operator, type, and route, and say so
plainly when enrichment is unavailable.
- README rewritten keyless-first; concise 0.1.0 changelog section; CI
workflow included.
Gates: 2,672 unit tests pass / 0 fail, build clean, tracking regression
108/108, map-source tray QA pass, setup doctor ready.
