Knip, configured with the application, package exports, scripts, QA
harnesses, workers, tools and tests as entry points, reports exports
that no module imports. Each was checked by hand against string-based
and namespace imports.
- Symbols that are still used inside their own module lose only the
`export` keyword (176 constants and helpers).
- Unused re-exports are removed from barrel modules (flight, military,
vessel, CCTV, directions, transit history, local ADS-B and street-level
policy modules).
- Declarations that nothing uses at all are deleted, among them
AIS_WATCHDOG_STATUSES, applyFilter, isRadioCountryCode, compactText,
DENSITY_STOPS, the unused CCTV endpoint constants, and the SDR band
constants.
- Default exports that nothing imports are removed. The ones in
src/data/earthquakes.js, src/data/telegeographySubmarineCables.js,
src/data/wind.js and src/data/bhoteKoshiLocator.js each constructed a
layer instance at import time that nothing used; those instances are
no longer created.
Every export of a package.json entry stays, as does TOMTOM_CREDIT,
which the traffic layer reads from the credits namespace it is given.
Conflicts:
- KartaView viewer moved into the shared photoViewer.js on main; its
labels now take the provider name ("{name} street-level photo") and
are translated there.
- Weather: main's cloud filter strength slider, with its labels in t().
- Street Level caption: translated creator line plus main's licence.
Panoramax status and error texts are marked like KartaView's, and
"Panoramax answered HTTP {status}" gets a template in the panel and the
layer row. Catalogs: es/ru 2553 messages each, complete.

Fixes the 51 P0–P2 findings from the full review of the i18n branch and
the issues found while checking every new string on screen in ru and es.
- Translate errors and statuses that still reached ru/es in English:
feed and tile errors, provider statuses, the ALPR chip, the traffic
mode chip, voice plan step labels, fire feed values, receiver bands,
scene save reasons and the Cesium attribution link.
- Show preset city names in the UI language (src/ui/placeNames.js);
data and everything sent to the model stay English.
- Share layer names between the layer panel, HUD and voice card
(src/ui/layerNames.js).
- Keep long ru/es strings whole: voice card error lines, analyst
titles, the voice tier status, the Nepal evidence button, the ALPR
retry chip. English layout is unchanged.
- Ask before a language switch drops unsaved work.
- Catalog fixes: glossary terms (пуск, пресет), gender agreement and
consistent "peticiones" in es, fewer calques in both languages.
- Fix English text that was itself wrong (e.g. "Exit cockpit to fly to
a weather", raw tool ids in voice plan steps).
Catalogs: es/ru 2535 messages each, complete.

Blend the existing infrared brightness key from Full (0%) to Clouds only (100%), preserving Soft/Vivid as independent opacity presets. Commit filter changes on slider release and retain legacy share-link mode codes.
Two other models reviewed the ru and es review PDFs. What held up:
- Directions: Russian reads "держитесь левее" at a fork and "займите
левую полосу" for a lane, Spanish "toma el carril izquierdo". Forks and
lanes get their own direction words; English is unchanged.
- Weather timestamps read "13.10 19:04 UTC" / "13/10 19:04 UTC" instead
of "10-13", which read as a range. English keeps "10-13".
- Cockpit coordinates write the hemisphere out in Russian ("30,312° с.
ш."): a lone «С» after a degree sign read as Celsius.
- A layer whose source joins several providers shows each name in the UI
language ("Mapillary · Google Просмотр улиц").
- Vessel speed uses the locale's decimal separator.
- Layer names no longer hyphenate into two-letter pieces ("es-paciales").
- Catalog: wrong meanings (cyclone centre, STREAMING, credited source,
"DE OÍDAS"), calques ("Пацифика", "Активная погода", "Прочитать вид",
"referrer", worker), Russian "щёлкните по …", shorter Spanish labels
that were cut (voice status, PREAJUSTES, search placeholder) and one
term per concept.

From the re-shot Russian screenshots:
- Translated: weather frame/imagery status errors, HUD summary provenance
("НЕДОСТУПНО: СУДА AIS ОНЛАЙН"), Bhote Koshi map labels, cockpit signal
distances (КМ). The HUD summary fields are separated with " · " in every
language, so the style name and view band no longer read as one phrase.
- Numbers follow the locale: cockpit altitude ("26 175"), precipitation.
- No breaks inside codes and dates: ADS-B and similar in layer rows,
Sentinel-2, cyclone issue dates (word joiner; the UI font has no U+2011),
no-break space after label colons in cyclone details.
- Layout: count lines under ALPR, short unavailable chip (context
"status chip"), roomier draw segments, tighter CCTV calibration chips,
two-line beat titles and media card titles, wrapping weather status.
- Wording: ru advisory is «сводка» (was «бюллетень»; "Advisory center" is
«Центр циклона по сводке»), Street View is «Просмотр улиц», OPACITY
«НЕПРОЗР.», synced «синхр.», Area «Зона»; the import dialog no longer says
"this scene" for several scenes. Glossary updated.

A review of the Russian UI screenshots found ~90 places where longer words
broke the layout or text was still English. Fixed so they hold for any
language, then shortened where a control is short by design.
- Layout: label columns that size to their text (weather and wind settings,
Recent Imagery slots and opacity, style sliders, display panel), layer
list names and icons, buttons that wrap instead of overflowing (CCTV,
scenes, Bhote Koshi), voice header that always shows the cost, styled
EN | ES | RU chips, voice error tray above the dock.
- t() context: t('CLEAR', { context: 'action' }) is «СБРОСИТЬ» while the sky
stays «ЯСНО»; also used for radio categories, voice states and directions.
- Units and dates follow the locale through src/ui/unitLabels.js
(formatQuantity: localized number, translated unit, non-breaking space):
wind, pressure, cyclones, directions, CCTV, SDR gain, scene timing, flight
tooltip, Recent Imagery dates and resolution.
- Newly translated: directions turn-by-turn steps (built from the maneuver;
English matches the server word for word), HUD mode and summary, voice
card states, radio categories on the globe, CCTV status, layer source
lines, scene dialogs (Cancel, file pickers), Bhote Koshi statuses, titles,
comparison dates and caveat, Recent Imagery notices. Stored data and text
for AI tools stay English.
- es and ru: 1,885 messages each.

Mark every UI string the unmarked-text check reported (534) plus text it
cannot see (helpers, joined labels, runtime-built panels), and translate
the result to Spanish and Russian: 1,679 messages each.
- Kept on purpose, with the reason where the text lives: provider and
product names, place and camera names, codes and units, dB values, the HUD
terminal readouts, demo shot titles that saved projects look up by title,
and text for AI tools and the voice model.
- Modules shared with the server or AI tools stay free of the i18n import
(local msg); the wind reading and voice session stay English and are
translated where the page shows them.
- npm test now runs the unmarked-text check.
- Fixes on the way: a duplicated radio privacy paragraph, the contact panel
toggle saying Expand while open, the CSS filter mistaking & for CSS.

Add getImage() to the weather source. It reads one frame through the
bounded image route the layer already uses and returns its content type
and bytes, so code outside the layer can show the current map.
Wind (NOAA GFS and ECMWF IFS: animated particles, colour field, a reading at map centre), observed weather (NOAA MRMS radar, GOES and NESDIS infrared clouds, lightning density) on one shared history timeline, NHC and CPHC cyclone advisories with tracks and cones, and a WEATHER panel in the right rail. On 3D Tiles the observed products render as raised shells with a sharper window around the view.
